Infoplex welcomes launch of latest TASBooks software

Infoplex, the most successful third party developer for TAS accounting software is welcoming today's launch of the latest TASBooks package which is on sale today and available for download from 29th September.

This innovative approach to the launch means that TAS customers can very easily get their program update via a downloadable link. After that TASBooks can automatically download updates via the Internet, so customers are always up-to-date with the very latest version.

TASBooks is replacing TAS BOOKS 2 and TAS BOOKS 3 and includes an array of exciting new features such as Cash Flow Forecast, a VAT Return Assistant and a Stock Forecast option.

Commenting on the launch of TASBooks, Mark Ramsay, Managing Director, Infoplex said: "Sage has continued to demonstrate its commitment to TAS UK and Irish customers and to the TAS product range. It has invested in significant enhancements to the products themselves and in the TAS brand. In addition to the new TASBooks, TAS launched its micro-business products, FirstBooks and FirstPayroll, in June. These improvements reinforce the core TAS strengths of a powerful, scalable package which is user-friendly and yet amazing value."

Some of the key features of TASBooks include:

• Cash Flow Forecast - cash is king and keeping a close eye on cash flow can make the difference between success and failure for many small businesses. This tool enables users to add a payment due date automatically to every invoice, allowing them to build up a picture of money coming in and money going out over the coming weeks and months. In addition, details of planned future sales or purchases can be added and quotes included.
• VAT Return Assistant - makes it easier to check and file a VAT return and post the VAT payment - all at the same time. Plus you can also file your VAT return online with HMRC and start the process of preparing for the major EU VAT changes from 1st January 2010.
• Stock Forecast (with TASBooks and Stock Control module only) - enables customers to estimate when they next need to re-order stock, based on current stock levels and previous stock movement patterns.
• Address/Postcode lookup - lookup any UK address from a postcode. Saves time when entering an address and makes sure that you've always got an accurate address - no more incorrectly delivered items.
• Product pricing to four decimal places - allows customer to set a product unit price of two or four decimal places, previously only in TAS BOOKS 3.
• Automatic discounts for customers buying in bulk - with up to three different quantity thresholds. e.g. if you offer discounts like 10% off for two boxes, 25% off for ten boxes, etc; you can now do this automatically.

The main benefits of upgrading to TASBooks are that it is even easier to use with many processes simplified and a number of assistants and interactive flowcharts added. For those with version 5 or later of TAS BOOKS 3, TAS BOOKS 2, TAS BOOKS 1 or TAS BOOKS it is possible to easily transfer accounts information into TASBooks. To transfer data from earlier versions of TAS or from other accounting software programs, Infoplex can usually provide a solution.

Infoplex is making its own software compatible with the new TAS products. Mr Ramsay said: "We expect to be rolling out new releases of OrderBooks, MultiTAS, TASflex and, of course, TASLink SDK in early October. These upgrades will be freely available to customers with valid maintenance contracts."
