MultiTAS Business Manager � Upgrades Live (26 May 2011)

Infoplex is pleased to announce the release in early June of a number of enhancements to its MultiTAS Business Manager Plus software.

The upgrade will be extremely useful for customers, especially those involved in manufacturing, supplying large retail multiples or selling on Amazon.co.uk. They also aim to streamline the functionality of the software and ensure greater efficiency for customers.

BoM (Bill of Materials) software is normally required by companies who manufacture and assemble products in-house. MultiTAS Manufacturing option includes BoM and has works order processing features - a works order tells your manufacturing team what to make, when and what quantity. To help track progress, works orders include the option to assign a work in progress percentage. So, as products are being made, the manufacturing team can update their works orders.

To help with planning your production schedule, MultiTAS Manufacturing includes new powerful Product Requirements reporting - requirements based on outstanding sales orders and works orders up to 12 months ahead. By showing projected stock levels at the end of each period (weeks or months), you can see at a glance where material shortfalls arise and take action accordingly.

As part of the upgrade, BoM will now appear under Manufacturing in the menu of MultiTAS Business Manager Plus if enabled. It will also introduce another new feature: a visual display of all outstanding works orders, seen in a calendar format. This can be viewed each day and will have a button for each works order due to complete that day. Each button can be clicked to view further detail about the job. This will allow businesses to see at a glance what is due for completion on any day.

In addition, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) features have now been incorporated within MultiTAS Business Manager Plus together with full multi-currency support. EDI is often an essential for any business trading with large multiple retailers such as Tesco, Homebase, John Lewis etc who all place their orders via EDI. The software allows orders to be placed in EDI, imported into TAS; invoices are created in TAS, exported out and then issued to the buyer via specialist EDI software. MultiTAS also handles ASNs (Advance Shipping Notes).

The final enhancement is the introduction of support for online channel sales systems � initially this will be for Amazon.co.uk only, but, subject to demand, it is planned to roll out support for other channels in due course, such as eBay and Play.com. The new features will let you create your product/price file for upload to Amazon, import sales orders and payments downloaded from Amazon, automatically creating customers, allocating cash and accounting for Amazon�s commission in the process.

Infoplex upgrades products for new TASBooks v2 (19 Nov 2010)

Infoplex has announced an upgrade to its software portfolio to ensure compatibility with the new TASBooks v2 which is being rolled out during November via automatic updates.

If you want the latest version of TAS�s easy-to-use accounts software for growing businesses with around 35 new features and 200 other improvements, all from customer suggestions and requests, then TASBooks v2 is the ideal solution.

In response, Infoplex has rolled out new releases of its core offerings � OrderBooks, MultiTAS, TASflex and TASLink SDK and these are now available to customers. These upgrades are freely available to customers with up to date maintenance subscriptions.

Commenting on the upgrades, Mark Ramsay, Managing Director, Infoplex said: "This latest version from TAS has incorporated a huge amount of user feedback which helps ensure that the products meet customer needs. The complete range of Infoplex products are now compatible with TASBooks v2, allowing our customers to maintain their integrations successfully and with the minimum of fuss."

TASBooks v2 aims to make using TASBooks even easier and more convenient based on feedback from customers. Around 35 new or improved features and over 200 other smaller improvements have been made.

These include simpler back-ups (only two mouse clicks) and a new multi-company backup option, better bank reconciliation (can be paused), streamlined access rights settings in User Management, easier to deal with late entries, a new option to print acknowledgements, ability to switch off dynamic discounts and a bank account document manager.

In addition there is improved quick journal entry, clearer program icons, easier keyboard shortcuts, clearer gross profit on the TASBooks Today dashboard and clearer cashbook reports.

For the Irish version of TASBooks v2, TAS Payment Services allows customers to process mail order and telephone order card payments directly from TASBooks and to accept Laser cards too. Laser Card is an Irish-based debit card scheme. There are almost 3 million Laser Cards in circulation and 195 million transactions worth almost €11.2 billion were carried out on those cards in 2009.

MultiTAS Business Manager becomes a desktop icon (22 July 2010)

Infoplex's MultiTAS software has become even more advantageous for TAS users with the arrival of MultiTAS Business Manager which has been developed in response to customer feedback.

Following a major review of the MultiTAS product range in March, Infoplex is delighted to announce that MultiTAS Business Manager is now available for customers. As Mark Ramsay, Managing Director explains: "We have simplified the product and it can now be launched straight from the desktop icon. Menu options are now contained in one place and are easier to find."

In effect, MultiTAS has now evolved into two main products � MultiTAS Business Manager Finance and MultiTAS Business Manager Plus.

MultiTAS Business Manager Finance includes MultiTAS Financial Ledger Links modules (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cash Book and Nominal Ledger, with eBanking/BACS in the future).

MultiTAS Business Manager Plus includes all of the Business Manager Finance features, as well as the recently introduced Multi-Currency feature. It also includes the MultiTAS Stock and Sales Order modules, with Bill of Materials and EDI to follow.

The MultiTAS Stock/Sales Order Track-It option is now the MultiTAS Business Manager Plus Trade option and the MultiTAS Stock Make-It (Bill of Materials etc) option is now the MultiTAS Business Manager Plus Manufacture option.

There are a few Stock reports which must still be accessed via SIM and the MultiTAS Stock module. These are being moved into MultiTAS Business Manager Plus over the next few weeks.

Some customers have already made the switch to the new products and have found them to be much easier to use and much more efficient.

SMEs must plan and act now to secure sustainable business growth in the recovery (13 May 2010)

For cash-strapped SMEs the last eighteen months of credit crunch, recession, restrictive bank lending and general economic turmoil have been exceptionally challenging and difficult.

Whilst conditions are still tough and non-one believes we are entirely out of the woods yet, it does appear that the worst is over and that the situation is improving, albeit slowly.

For that reason, and to help them get ahead of their competitors, small businesses should be thinking about the steps that need to be taken to help them on the road to recovery.

As new opportunities present themselves, businesses must ensure that they are properly equipped to take full advantage of these and investing time and money now will be well spent.

New Pricing by Product Group feature (19 Mar 2010)

If you have lots of products which are essentially variations of the same few products, e.g. different colour or size, you no longer need to price each product individually which can take up huge amounts of time. Simply put them in the same TAS Product Group and MultiTAS Business Manager Plus and OrderBooks lets you price them by group. You can then select that pricelist during order entry.

'the cloud' - Is it really the future? (26 Feb 2010)

Over the last twelve months, one of the big buzz words in business system computing and accounting circles has been 'The cloud', although it has actually been around for ten years or so � a delivery model for IT services where business applications are provided via a web browser with software and data stored remotely 'in the cloud'.

The overarching goal of cloud computing is to provide easy, scalable access to computing resources and IT services. It can be either public or private. Commercial public cloud services are sold on demand on a subscription basis and are fully controlled by the providers.

This means that for end-users there is potentially no requirement to spend on IT equipment and software. All that is needed is a computer and internet access. Users rent 'the cloud' space and/or relevant applications and access these remotely from wherever they may be.

There are essentially three service categories available to users: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

With the SaaS model the hardware and software is provided by the hosting company and services can include anything from web-based email to accounting and CRM.

In the main, there are two schools of thought about the viability of 'the cloud'. The first is that it is certainly not the future and that 'the cloud' has no compelling case. The second, more progressive view, often highlighted by more technologically savvy types is that 'the cloud' is the best development for many a year and has a wide array of benefits for business.

The debate has caused a certain polarisation of views. Commercial cloud proponents are missionary-like in their zeal and promotion of their services, whilst the sceptics proclaim weaknesses in the cloud model, supporting more traditional 'on-premise' systems for businesses. In a recent article entitled 'How cloud computing is like the credit crunch' a Gartner analyst VP called it "over-hyped, complex and potentially toxic". A January 2010 survey by CommVault of 535 companies of all sizes showed that, whilst 52% stated they would consider cloud at some point in the future, 75% expressed concerns about moving to a cloud storage model. Security/privacy were the biggest issues, with 30% of participants considering them as their number one issue.

My own view is that it is very much a matter of horses for courses, but that perceived control of information and concerns about security will remain key factors for those so adamantly against 'the cloud'.

A major issue often raised is appropriate protection of user data. One concern is that cloud providers themselves may have access to customers' unencrypted data. In addition, service providers may not have appropriate physical or network security measures in place. These concerns are major obstacles to broader adoption of cloud computing.

Part of the problem is that cloud advocates do not successfully get across the main features and benefits and the added-value that cloud computing can deliver, especially for micro businesses such as plumbers, electricians, decorators etc or some SMEs. They have failed to do justice to their cause and their approach can often be seen as patronising when dealing with non-IT professionals or clients.

The main commercial cloud SaaS benefits are that:

It is easier to collaborate on cloud
All data is in one 'virtual' location with elastic storage capacity
Greater flexibility � as more and more people work from home
Greater access 24/7
Is cheaper in the short-term
Advanced disaster recovery systems are in place

Some issues with commercial cloud SaaS are that:

Functionality and efficiency can be reduced
Seamless integration with multiple 3rd party systems is more difficult to achieve
Data entry can be clunky and slow, especially if higher volumes are involved
Physical location of data is an on-going concern, more so if abroad
Security, privacy and confidentiality remain major concerns

It is worth remembering that there are various alternatives to SaaS hosted solutions � for example, a business could rent their own server in the cloud and run their desktop applications on it so these could be accessed from anywhere. This would be classed as IaaS or PaaS.

Or a business could merely use their existing in-house server and give people access to it and their desktop via a password and log-in.

Alternatively, Citrix offers its GoToMyPC which lets you access files, programs, email and networks enabling you to take your office with you no matter where you are. It works with almost any operating system through a secure, private connection.

Citrix XenApp Fundamentals is aimed at small to mid-size businesses with up to 75 remote users and allows them to securely access applications and files from anywhere at anytime � in essence a private cloud.

Increasingly, mobility is very important to the way that business is being done and what users need is a balance between portability and a reasonable size of real estate to work with e.g. a small laptop or a portable, pocket-sized computer, perhaps with a roll out screen to allow maximum usability. A consistent level of IT functionality is also necessary � people need their business services delivered to them at any point, and in any location.

The cloud debate is certain to continue for some time to come, but it should be remembered that whatever the arguments on both sides, customers vote with their feet. At the last count that I saw, the three biggest players in the micro-business and SME accounting space (excluding Excel!) were Sage, QuickBooks and TAS with about 1 million customers between them (about 75%, 15% and 10% respectively). I would hazard a guess that more than 50% of that 1 million was acquired in the last 10 years or less, i.e. over roughly the same period that the SaaS/hosted service solutions have been around.

It would be helpful to compare these figures with the number of customers using each of the well-known UK and Irish hosted cloud accounting solutions. At the very least we would get a better idea of the rate of adoption and, assuming reasonable numbers, this would give a lot more credibility to their proponents. Unfortunately, no publicly available figures have yet been forthcoming. I suspect the debate will continue for some time and we are years away from a wholesale shift by business to the public commercial cloud. On the other hand, use of private clouds seems less controversial and so faster adoption rates may occur.

TASflex - a customer perspective featuring McArdle Meats (10 Dec 2009)

Irish firm McArdle Meats turned to Infoplex when they needed to increase the efficiency of their accounting software after a period of business growth and when factory performance had been improved, which created additional demand on administration staff.

Using Infoplex's TASflex software which provides seamless integration with TAS Books has given McArdle Meats the ultimate in convenience in linking their factory software with TAS.

McArdle Meats is Dundalk's most popular butcher with two outlets in the Marshes Shopping Centre and Clanbrassil Street and another outlet in Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas, Dublin.

The company is also the leading meat wholesaler in Co Louth and Co Monaghan as well as owning a meat factory and has been a TAS Books customer since 2001.

As a result of company expansion, McArdle Meats asked industrial weighing scales and weighing system manufacturer DEM Machines to install a JPC Weighing/Labeling terminal. This included a TFT colour display and a touch screen, housed in a IP65 stainless steel case and produced sales invoices. The new system helped boost productivity for the products destined for McArdle's customer base - butchers, food manufacturers, hotels, restaurants and the catering trade.

Although this worked well, a side effect was that it shifted the efficiency problem to the accounts department, who still had to rekey basic invoice data into TAS Books 2 - literally 100s of invoices per week. This was a time consuming, costly, error-prone and tedious task and not the best use of staff time.

McArdle Meats desperately needed a streamlining process to be applied to their IT systems and that is where Infoplex's TASflex came to the rescue, as it allowed the creation of a seamless link from their weighing/labeling machine's software to TAS. DEM Machines' software developer was able to use Infoplex's TASLink SDK tool to develop the link within DEM's own software.

This has made a huge difference to efficiency because invoices generated from the JPC Weighing/Labeling terminal are now automatically posted into the TAS Sales Ledger without manual intervention.

"It is amazing how much time we are saving", said Keith Shortt, who runs McArdles' day-to-day accounting operations.

He continued: "We are processing about 800 invoices per month and that number is still growing. With the TAS Books integration enabled by TASflex as implemented by DEM Machines we have avoided incurring the substantial on-going costs of additional personnel and our Sales Ledger is up-to-date all the time."

Multi-Currency and price lists now available (09 Nov 2009)

Infoplex's MultiTAS software has become even more advantageous for TAS users with the addition of a new price lists and a multi-currency pricing capability for sales order processing.

At the moment, TAS allows customers to maintain four fixed prices and three quantity break prices per item for sale, with all of these being in the customer's base currency, which is used throughout sales order and invoice processing. Although this is sufficient for many businesses, for others who need to make use of unlimited price lists, customer specific price lists, special offer prices and foreign currency price lists or who need to issue quotations, orders and invoices in multiple currencies, these functions are not available.

In light of that, Infoplex is launching a new Price Lists feature and an optional Sell-It (multi-currency) feature, for its MultiTAS Sales Order and its OrderBooks product ranges this month.

Customers will be able to create as many price lists as they require, in addition to those available from TAS. These can be general or customer specific, can include special offers and, if the Sell-It option is chosen, can also be in any of the 150+ foreign currencies in TAS.

The price lists can be viewed in a grid for ease of use and can be assigned a user-friendly code for ease of reference. With the Sell-It option the currency of choice can also be selected. Price lists can also be designated for particular customers, be VAT exclusive or inclusive and be discontinued. There is a convenient single click export to Excel button too.

For entering sales orders, a user friendly order form lets customers select the particular price list that they want to use and, if the order is in foreign currency (Sell-It option required), the current TAS exchange rate is used, but it can be adjusted to suit.

The document processing aspect of MultiTAS and OrderBooks which uses industry standard Crystal Reports lets customers print quotations, proformas, delivery notes, invoices etc, complete with weights and item counts and also allows foreign currency to be handled via the Sell-It option.

Product Upgrades Unveiled (22 Oct 2009)

Infoplex has announced an upgrade to its software portfolio to ensure compatibility with the new TASBooks and FirstBooks.

It has rolled out new releases of its core offerings - OrderBooks, MultiTAS, TASflex and, of course, TASLink SDK and these are now available to customers. These upgrades are freely available to customers with up to date maintenance subscriptions.

The firm has also introduced some automatic online software update alerting, which will help its customers maintain the quality and functionality of their Infoplex products. This new feature will also allow important announcements to be made to customers regarding product enhancements.

Commenting on the upgrades, Mark Ramsay, Managing Director, Infoplex said: "We are particularly pleased with the new announcement messaging system, which operates in a non-intrusive way, so that users are not unduly distracted. It will also allow us to communicate better with our customers and the new software generally provides a solid platform for upcoming enhancements like Multi-Currency order processing."

Infoplex, the most successful third party developer for TAS accounting software is welcoming today's launch of the latest TASBooks package which is on sale today and available for download from 29th September.

This innovative approach to the launch means that TAS customers can very easily get their program update via a downloadable link. After that TASBooks can automatically download updates via the Internet, so customers are always up-to-date with the very latest version.

TASBooks is replacing TAS BOOKS 2 and TAS BOOKS 3 and includes an array of exciting new features such as Cash Flow Forecast, a VAT Return Assistant and a Stock Forecast option.

Product pricing to four decimal places - allows customer to set a product unit price of two or four decimal places, previously only in TAS BOOKS 3.
Automatic discounts for customers buying in bulk - with up to three different quantity thresholds. e.g. if you offer discounts like 10% off for two boxes, 25% off for ten boxes, etc; you can now do this automatically.

The main benefits of upgrading to TASBooks are that it is even easier to use with many processes simplified and a number of assistants and interactive flowcharts added. For those with version 5 or later of TAS BOOKS 3, TAS BOOKS 2, TAS BOOKS 1 or TAS BOOKS it is possible to easily transfer accounts information into TASBooks. To transfer data from earlier versions of TAS or from other accounting software programs, Infoplex can usually provide a solution.

Scottish Enterprise CBS - helps Infoplex growth (08 May 2009)

Thanks to help from Scottish Enterprise's commercialisation service, Fife-based firm Infoplex has successfully launched a new piece of software and experienced significant revenue growth within the last year despite these challenging times.

Infoplex counts Peter Rabbit Organics Limited, Xlent Foods Ltd and RJ Sheppy amp; Son, cider makers, amongst its 1300 customers, and is one of 10 Scottish businesses that participated in Scottish Enterprise's innovative Commercial Breakthrough Service (CBS) pilot programme that concluded at the end of March 2009.

The CBS Programme gave companies 12 months of expert support to improve the management of commercial risk and to further develop their sales and marketing capabilities. For Infoplex, this support was provided by Gordon Venters and Joe Henry of Planys, and focused on helping the company prepare its OrderBooks technology for a successful commercial release. OrderBooks is an innovative business solution for SMEs and was launched in October 2008.

Suitable for businesses in any sector, and the only software able to offer this level of functionality, OrderBooks merges Microsoft Outlook, CRM and TAS BOOKS into one powerful enterprise-wide information system at a fraction of the cost and complexity associated with large-scale ERP software - giving big business advantages to smaller firms.

Speaking about his experience of the CBS programme, Infoplex's Managing Director Mark Ramsay said: "Being able to participate in CBS has been incredibly beneficial for us and has given us access to marketing and sales experts that have provided us with know-how and hands-on support when we have needed it. Infoplex, the most successful third party developer of TAS BOOKS software has launched its MultiTAS solution - a suite of modestly priced software that enhances TAS BOOKS to the level of other packages costing thousands more.

MultiTAS incorporates a range of tools that help businesses handle their sales, financial ledger and stock control in a much more effective and streamlined way - able to quickly perform tasks that were previously time-consuming and complex.

The advanced document processing and reporting capability of MultiTAS provides a convenient and sophisticated way for companies to handle sales documents, invoice posting, sales analysis, stock reporting or price lists, and means that users can easily customise these documents with a minimum of fuss, and can then issue them via email, effortlessly.

Sales orders can be imported quickly and efficiently from a company website's eCommerce system with MultiTAS, automating the manual keying of data in TAS 611 and quotations, proformas and credit notes can also be imported.

In addition, users can print weights, both for individual items and document totals, as well as counts of the number of items for delivery documents. This means that the total weight of a package can be produced on a delivery note or the total number of items can be placed on a delivery label - all by simply using a formula.

Users can preview documents before committing them to printer or file (PDF, Excel, Word etc), email or another application. They can also generate customer-specific price lists based on TAS product prices and dynamic discounts with no trouble, using customisable report templates to change the layout, insert a company logo, or even print pictures of products or barcode labels.

When it comes to Financial Ledgers, MultiTAS contains productivity tools for the TAS Sales, Purchase, Nominal and Cashbook ledgers. These allow users to import and update customer and supplier lists, import and post journal transactions, import and update budgets, report and export customer and supplier details and report or export Sales and Purchase Ledger Open Items.

These tools help eliminate the duplication of data and reduce errors meaning that financial controls are more effective and greater business accuracy is achieved.

Infoplex takes on Fife's Most Enterprising Student (20 Apr 2009)

As part of the Shell STEP scheme for undergraduates, Infoplex took on student Chris Daykin and gave him an insight into the development of a new software product, preparing for launch.

Chris worked on the development of an innovative new software product for Infoplex called OrderBooks. OrderBooks merges Microsoft Outlook, CRM and TAS BOOKS into a single system and offers every business the opportunity to capture the benefits of an enterprise-wide management system at a fraction of the complexity and cost associated with large-scale ERP software - giving big business advantages to smaller firms.

As a result of Chris' placement, Infoplex now has an updated version of the code in which OrderBooks is written, up-to-date components in the program, and new features. The new and updated code that Chris has written allows the other Infoplex developers to expand the project easily, including future integration with other Sage and QuickBooks products. The company can now rapidly complete development of the program and offer the new and updated OrderBooks to their customers, which is anticipated to make the company around £150,000 in extra sales during its first year of release.

Mark Ramsay, Managing Director, Infoplex, said: "Chris's project was a natural follow on from the marketing work done by another Shell STEP student in 2007. Crystal Reports Designer tool for TAS users (16 Mar 2009)

Infoplex, the most successful third party developer of TAS BOOKS software, has introduced a Crystal Reports Designer tool for TAS users that enables them to easily customise documents and reports.

This innovative tool, the very first of its kind for TAS, is part of Infoplex's MultiTAS solution - a suite of modestly priced software that enhances TAS BOOKS to the level of other packages costing thousands of pounds/euros more.

It is also part of Infoplex's OrderBooks technology which merges Microsoft Outlook, CRM and TAS BOOKS into one powerful enterprise-wide information system at a fraction of the complexity and cost associated with high-end ERP software - giving big business advantages to smaller firms.

Normally, TAS BOOKS uses Microsoft Word to let users customise documents such as quotations and invoices, but this has a number of limitations and can often prove difficult and awkward.

The advanced document processing and reporting capability of MultiTAS and OrderBooks provides a convenient and sophisticated way for companies to handle sales documents, invoice posting, sales analysis, stock reporting or price lists, and means that users can easily customise these documents with a minimum of fuss, and can then issue them via email, effortlessly.

Sales orders can be imported quickly and efficiently from a company website's eCommerce system with MultiTAS, automating the manual keying of data in TAS 611 and quotations, proformas and credit notes can also be imported.

In addition, users can print weights, both for individual items and document totals, as well as counts of the number of items for delivery documents. This means that the total weight of a package can be produced on a delivery note or the total number of items can be placed on a delivery label - all by simply using a Crystal formula.

Users can preview documents before committing them to printer or file (PDF, Excel, Word etc), email or another application. They can also generate customer-specific price lists based on TAS product prices and dynamic discounts with no trouble, using customisable report templates to change the layout, insert a company logo, or even print pictures of products or barcode labels.

Automated Stock Adjustments (27 Feb 2009)

TAS users can now benefit from an automated stock adjustment tool to help streamline their business processes, thanks to MultiTAS from Infoplex - a suite of modestly priced software that enhances TAS BOOKS, bringing flexibility, added functionality and a host of every day benefits - enhancing TAS BOOKS to the level of other packages costing thousands of pounds/euros more. The Stock Management module of MultiTAS has a plethora of tools to enhance the TAS stock ledger, including a Bill of Materials based manufacturing option.

It also forms part of Infoplex's OrderBooks technology which merges Microsoft Outlook, CRM and TAS BOOKS into one powerful enterprise-wide information system at a fraction of the complexity and cost associated with high-end ERP software - giving big business advantages to smaller firms.

Normally, TAS 521 is used to enter stock adjustments, but this can often prove difficult, awkward and error-prone if users have even a modest number of products. In addition, users have to calculate the quantity of the adjustment to make based on the physical stock count.

With the automated stock adjustment capability, users just create a simple two-column spreadsheet of the changes they require. They can opt to use the 'counted quantity' from a stock-take and MultiTAS will save users having to calculate the 'adjustment quantity' - perfect, if using barcode readers to count stock.

Mark Ramsay, Managing Director, Infoplex explained: "The ability to perform automated stock adjustments is a brand new feature within the MultiTAS Stock Management module and is unique to Infoplex. This particular function is a great time saver, especially for those that use barcode scanners which count stock on the scanner, upload onto a computer and then create a file for import to the stock system. They no longer need to calculate each adjustment quantity and post them one by one."

He continued: "Now it is so much quicker and easier to handle the tedious job of posting stock adjustments - you even get a useful preview before committing them to TAS BOOKS."

The MultiTAS Stock Management module also lets TAS users:

Control stock at multiple locations
Import/update products and dynamic discounts
Import/post multiple product code and group changes
Obtain reports on sales and gap analysis
Keep track of outstanding purchase orders where goods have been received, but supplier invoices have not
Handle complex multi-level assemblies, i.e. sub-assemblies, with up to 6 decimal places on item quantities and no limit on the number of items per assembly.
Process works orders using basic MRP (with links to sales orders), revaluations and assembly builds

New - TASBooks for Accountants (16 Dec 2008)

TASBooks for Accountants Practice Edition has just been launched and is TAS Software's first bookkeeping software designed specifically for accountants, i.e. client management software. It makes day to day tasks, such as managing clients' data, an easy process by keeping everything they need in one place.

All clients' data can be accessed through their backups and is accessible from one simple window. Users can even see at a glance who is working on the client's data and what stage the work is at.

It lets accountants work with datasets from Zebra, TAS BOOKS Basic, TAS BOOKS 1, TAS BOOKS 2 and TAS BOOKS 3, so there is no need to install lots of different programs to access client data - one program does it all.

Clients authorise access to their data by linking it with the accountant - so there is no need to know the clients' own TAS BOOKS passwords, which makes their data more secure.

A new User Manager lets supervisors create user accounts and define what they can and cannot do in TASBooks for Accountants. So they can keep in control of who can access sensitive client data.

With the Status Manager every dataset can be assigned a status flag, plus users can create custom statuses too. Accountants can keep track of their workflow and work the way they want.

The Financial Year change tool lets accountants change the financial year start date for any dataset. There is no longer any need to send client data into TAS to get the financial year changed.

Multiple version support - this version can only support TAS BOOKS v8 and Zebra v2.2 data, but when new versions of TAS BOOKS are released it will able to access them too - all from within the same Client Manager. Accountancy firms no longer have to install multiple versions of TAS BOOKS and there's no danger of accidentally upgrading client data to a version that's incompatible with the one they've got.

TASBooks for Accountants Practice Edition is available in different sizes to fit the needs of each individual accounting practice. Accountants can choose from single-computer or 5-user workgroup - and even network versions for 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 and unlimited users.

TAS launches TotalPayroll - new subscription service gives businesses choice (08 Apr 2008)

TAS software, a division of Sage (UK) Limited has launched a new Payroll service to provide small businesses with all the essential tools they need to manage their people and payroll.

TotalPayroll is a 12 month subscription service, available in two forms, Self-Service and Bureau-Service.

For just £14 a month, the TotalPayroll Self-Service provides customers with the tools they need to run their payroll including software, support and advice.

The Bureau-Service means customers can provide TAS with their employee information and all their payroll will be completed for them. In addition, customers will receive HR and Health and Safety advice for their business. The Bureau-Service is available from just £28 a month.
